Not every date needs to be utterly romantic. Quite often a couple needs a simple and comfortable place to be in. But even a simple and comfortable date can be memorable and awe-striking, just like one of my favourite casual restaurants – Ginger.
Ginger has few locations, but my most preferred one of all is at Church and Wellesley. Located in one of the prettiest neighbourhoods in Toronto, Ginger is a sight to look at. It is well-decorated, with vibrant walls and bright colours. It also has massive windows, under which you would always find me – especially in the summer when it is a true delight to feel the warm breeze as well as see the exceptionally decorated vicinity.
But it is not just the view I come to see at Ginger – it is also my favourite eatery to come to to get amazing ethnic food for a relatively low price. The Asian cuisine is exceptional, especially when compared to the low prices. A hefty-sized meal can cost as low as $8 per plate, and the variety upholds with the quality. The food at Ginger is always interesting and delicious – there is never a bland bite, even for the most common dishes like chicken shish kabobs and u-don noodles, which are my favourite at Ginger.
The reason I call Ginger a casual restaurant is because it is somewhat cafeteria-style. Although your food is brought to your table, you are not bothered with endless visits from the waiter. The customer service there is a precious mix of getting what you need without being disturbed every five minutes. For that reason I find this restaurant a great place not only to relax, but also be able to have a long and uninterrupted conversation with the person I came with.
Ginger is a must-go-to place for anyone living in Toronto. I frequent there so often that should you go to the Church and Wellesley location, you’re bound to run into me eventually.
