With a colossal amount of sushi places sprawled across our fine city of Toronto, how does one really choose which one to go to? Choosing a good place simply by the flashiest sign up front is just impractical – it is a hit-and-miss system. So how did I find my favourite sushi spot, Sushi Supreme? I used to live across the street from it.
Even though I have long moved away from the area, I still take an hour’s trip down to just North of Yonge and Davisville to enjoy a delicious meal at a cozy restaurant. There is a special charm to Sushi Supreme that I have not yet seen replicated in any other restaurant I have been to – sushi o
r not. The exposed-brick walls are uniquely covered in ethnic knickknacks and gorgeous art works. A wooden staircase leads to a second floor – a more secluded sitting area. It is up on the second floor where I like to perch myself at with a pair of chopsticks in my hand.
There is a reason there are plenty of “Best OF” awards hanging on the walls behind the cooks. The customer service is superb – I never go low on my tea or wait too long for my food to be prepared. Also, the restaurant is always in top shape. Does not sound cheap? Nonsense – I find the prices at Sushi Supreme exceptionally reasonable, especially when compared to the quality of food served.
I find this restaurant so supreme; I’ve frequented it hundreds of times, and even spent my last Birthday there. And I do not think it is just old habits – Sushi Supreme is absolutely worth checking out.
Sushi Supreme is located at 1995 Yonge Street.
