On Tuesday, August 11th, the Yonge and Dundas Square will be holding a free outdoor movie: Gladiator (2000). Directed by Ridley Scott and starring Russell Crowe and Joaquin Pheonix, this outdoor event is sure to please most audiences.
Synopsis: Maximus (Crowe), a successful general, is exiled by Commodus (Phoenix) the envious heir to the throne. Returning to Rome in slavery, Maximus is forced to fight as a Gladiator. He uses his training to challenge Commodus, avenge his family’s murder, and win the admiration of the Roman people.
