Review: Cafe en Passant in Richmond Hill

    February 14th, 2011

We met up with Ralf at Cafe En Passant to talk about an awesome date idea for Valentines day. This French cafe offers an amazing Valentines-specific menu and celebrates many other special occasions. They are located in downtown Richmond Hill, close to the Richmond Hill Center of Performing Arts, which means you can catch a play right after your romantic dinner. Ralf and his staff will be sure to recommend different types of wines to compliment your dish and will show you daily specials. They also cater to vegetarians, and the salads are delicious! You and your loved one will be pleased with the service during your visit and there is a patio available for summer dates. Be sure to visit Cafe En Passant with your significant other. Enjoy!

how to properly eat lamb chops

    February 13th, 2011

On a date and ordered lamb chops for dinner? Surprise! It’s a little difficult to get through without using your hands and it’s important to use proper etiquette. After all, if you’re ordering a rack of lamb you’re most likely to be sitting in a finer dining establishment. To help, we’ve asked Ralf, owner of Cafe en Passant in Richmond Hill to show us how to properly cut and take delight in your meal. Cafe en Passant is a French restaurant that’s been in the community for over 30 years with Ralf here for the last 10. The lamb that you see here is part of his special Valentine’s menu which was divine. I’ve been telling friends and family about it all evening last night! Slightly crisp outer layer that’s very tender on the inside. Cutting the lamb was very easy and clean to hold. I was hardly talking while I slowly enjoyed each strip, stirring it around in sauce (wish i remember the name so I could look up a quick recipe). Paired with Austrian wine (the lamb is from Australia) finished nicely. If only I could eat like this all the time.

Say Tea II for the finest freshest teas in Toronto!

    January 7th, 2011

Tash recently visited Say Tea II near Yonge and Eglinton (2496 Yonge Street) to meet Sue and talk about the fine teas that she has in store. New for the season are Crab Tree and Evelyn, Marks and Spencer boxed Tea bags, Fancy Oolong tea, Oolong Ti Kuan Yin (Iron Goddess of Mercy) tea, China Oolong tea, and Milk Oolong Tea (coming soon). We had the pleasure of sampling some Vanilla Chai tea on our trip and loved it. Around the colder months, I usually prefer spiced teas over green teas so the spiced Chai flavor coupled with vanilla gave the tea a smooth but spicy flavour. The vanilla also removes the rough after taste of Chai tea and leaves a silkier finish. It’s one of my favorites at the moment and there are lots more in store to choose from! Will be seeing her soon!

    Stories from our Black Books!

    February 8th, 2010

Hey readers, found out about a new book coming out that you may be interested in.  It’s called Stories from our Black Books.  There’s also a release party coming out on the 11th (three days from today) if you’d like to drop in and check out the party at the Libra Lounge (see below for details).  What’s cool about this book is that it features REAL STORIES, not those fantasy made up fiction that you can read in the grocery store.  The book is also on its second volume, so if you liked this one, be sure to check out the first volume too.  Here’s a few notes about the book:

THE BOOK – All Your Juiciest Stories

It all started with a book! Back in 2004 my girl Carissa started collecting stories from women across North America about the men in and
out of their lives. After only a matter of weeks, hundreds of stories had been submitted and Carissa’s lovely face was seen in papers and on
televisions all over Canada! Buy the book online!  What can I say girls, IT WAS A HIT! With a 500+ person launch party and
a couple thousand copies of The Book sold within weeks of its release,
Stories From Our Black Books was born!

The Book is a compilation of the juiciest, the most moving, the funniest
and the most influential stories that you’ve submitted!  Our new version
of The Book is scheduled to launch February 14th, 2010, you don’t want
to miss getting your copy.  We are still collecting stories now! Don’t
hesitate! Click on My Black Book and start submitting your stories
today! They may just be part of the next edition.
