Randomland at Circa
By Jonathan Rotsztain
Normally, I wouldn’t recommend you going anywhere near Richmond Street on a weekend night. Clubland – the annoying, expensive and often violent area between University and Bathurst and Queen and King – is home to such infamous mainstays as Inside Lounge, Century Room, Steam Nightclub, etc, etc, ad nauseam which provide generic entertainment to Toronto’s masses (most of whom actually live in the 905). Trash talk aside, Clubland is entering a new era of entertainment with the opening of Randomland at Circa. Continue reading
Tonight, the City doesn’t sleep. Will you?
by Anthony Petur
Have you ever imagined what a night’s possibilities could entail if there was no predetermined close to it? Have you ever wished that just once the city would cease from fading into the shadows after last call and instead open itself up into a city that refused to sleep? If so, then brace yourself because tonight your desires will not only be heard, but unleashed into a cabaret of art, sight, senses and choices, all in which will be stretched way past the city’s usual bedtime. Yes, you are reading correctly. Tonight, the City doesn’t sleep.
buskerfest 2007 – toronto city events snapshot
Just incase anyone is unaware Buskerfest 2007 is definitely ON and in full swing as of today. No amount of grey cloud or dark sky could ever tame these bold, wild and opulent performers. In the heart of St. Lawrence Market they are taking over for four straight days showing off their mad collection of crazy skills & artistry in support of Epilepsy Toronto. Think ‘Carnival meets Stunt Department’. And just because the sun has to set doesn’t mean they do. Continue reading
Synesthesia: A Benefit for Childhood Cancer Foundation
Candlelighters Canada – The Childhood Cancer Foundation presents Synesthesia, a unqiue benefit concert supporting childhood cancer research this Wednesday August 15th at the Drake Hotel at 8pm. Synesthesia is Greek for to come together. It is a condition in which one type of stimulation evokes the sensation of another, as when the hearing of a sound produces the visualization of a color.

Dark Prince I Beseech You
I am the god of hell fire, and I bring you
Fire, I’ll take you to burn
Fire, I’ll take you to learn
I’ll see you burn
“Lord of Chaos, lend me your ear as I cut it off. Let the blood rain down, spoil and rot. This epoch will be for you my lord. This era will be for our new love.” Sound familiar? Um… There are lots of paths to true love and there is no good or bad way of getting there. You do what makes you happy, what fulfills you, regardless of what friends or family may think. That’s what love is all about: abandon – giving yourself to another, transcending race, class or expectations for something purer with your partner.
I’m going to the Taste of the Danforth, are you?
With the many events that happen in and around Toronto, this weekend hosts one of the biggest. It is the Taste of the Danforth running from Friday Aug, 10-12. For many years now, my family and I have gone down to enjoy the tastes, sounds, entertainment and shopping that this area of Toronto features. One year I even went down and met my friend and her friend and we wandered around together while my son and boyfriend played the many carnival games. Continue reading

The Police
Reunited, and it feels so good!
By Jonathan Rotsztain
Oh, can’t you see
You belong to me
How my poor heart aches
With every breath you take…
We’ve all been there. Things seem to be going great. You really like them and they really like you. Every time you’re together it’s magical. You’re making something really special together. You’re planning a life together. And then it all goes awry. While it may sound like your last relationship, I’m talking of course about the tumultuous fling between Andy Summers, Stewart Copeland and Gordon Matthew Sumner – better known as Sting – that was the Police.
1st Annual Deep House Boat Cruise Featuring Blaze Live – The AP After-Show
Photo and Article by Anthony Petur

Last week I declared I would break the classic vacation rule of ‘what happens in ______, stays in _______”, and so as promised it’s time to divulge just what exactly happened on this very incredible Canada day and ‘Night of Mayhem’. In my own defense I had actually started to feel slightly bad, this is after all a Cardinal Rule, however after seeing how many camera’s and paparazzi type photographer’s were also on board snapping up pictures of the event (which I’ve since also confirmed via www.clubzone.com, where all those pictures go that you often catch being taken), I no longer feel that guilty. And although it’s been almost a week since I was on board the Enterprise 2000, I’m still remembering vividly everything it entailed.
