There’s a company called: High Perspective, which is run by Michael Robertson, who has successfully accomplished more than 15,000 tandem flights for the last 30 years. Some of his other achievements include being a master rated instructor, flying for a Diet Pepsi commercial in 1988 and flew for various Outdoor network television spots to list a few. Tandem flying is where there are two people flying together, one being the pilot. There are separate harnesses for comfort and safety. This is a great date idea for those looking for a little bit of adventure for an upcoming weekend. Consider planning a flight during the fall to see the tree colours from above!

From the High Perspective website:
“Tandem Discovery Flights allow you to experience the freedom of flight by the side of a certified professional. The feeling of freedom is fantastic. Surrounded by 30,000 empty acres, the view is breathtakingly beautiful. We can see Lake Ontario immediately and then Lake Scugog and sometimes even Lake Simcoe. It’s a dream come true…it’s awesome! ”

Check out the official website for more details!

There’s a place in Niagara called HorsePlay Niagara which has Horseback riding, Trail riding and off-road go karting for those looking for a weekend adventure. Settled in on the Niagara escarpment, this is the only place that offers horse back riding for ages 6 and up, trails on the beach. Trails are authentically planned over a 300 acre property in the wilderness, unlike some of the field tracks that looks like every other beaten path. My girlfriend and I have been thinking about doing something like this and from what i’ve been looking for on the Internet thus far, this one looks to have the most amount value.

Oh, and check out that pic below. I’m still on the fence about what I’ll be telling my girlfriend to wear. Check out their official website for more details.

Have you heard of the Pacific Mall up in Markham Ontario? It’s a bit north of the city, but if you’re into having the latest cell phone (and ones you can’t buy here), car parts, Hong Kong fashions, Anime and Videogame paraphernalia or authentic Chinese Tea, this is the place to go! Actually, I’ve also had my playstations modded in here before, and there’s always tons of Toronto Star articles about this place getting busted for importing illegal movies (not that I’m condoning this or supporting this fact, it is what it is).

So this weekend, if you’ve got a car or in need of a new cell phone, head on up to Pacific mall and consider staying to for some food too. This is a very all-in-one place that’s different than China town and resembles Hong Kong very closely. A disclaimer though: this place is VERY BUSY on the weekends, so parking may be a long walk.

Great Date Idea: There are restaurants all around the mall (outside) that are authentic and incredibly popular. Go on Saturday or Sunday’s at about 10:30am for Dim Sum and beat the MASSIVE crowds. Sit down and enjoy the food while being in awe at the big wait that will form quickly at about 11:30am.

Address: 4300 Steeles Ave E. Phone: 905.470.8785
Email: admin@pacificmalltoronto.com
Website: http://www.pacificmalltoronto.com
Parking: Free above and underground parking available.
What’s nearby: Consider a short drive to Unionville’s main street off of HWY 7. It’s a great boutique and walk in a small town.
Why you should go: Authentic and hugely popular Chinese mall in Canada. On the weekends, it’s as busy as being in China during a holiday.
In a few days, your design is glazed and polished for quick pickup!

On September 5th, make a reservation for date night! Their website has a quick write up about what you can expect, but best to check out their official website and call them for more details.

Date Night
Saturday September 5th, adults only
Spend some time painting with your sweetheart (or win them over with this unique date!) and enjoy an evening of music, coffee, and snacks! (all included with your studio fee on this special night)

I’m writing this a day in advance just before we head out to Nauman’s Corn Maze, so by the time you read this, I’d have already stayed at the Maryhill Country Inn’s Blue room. I thought it’d be more fun to just stay the night nearby (it’s about 39 minutes from the farm according to Google Maps). In the evening, depending on if we’re completely tired, we’ll go out and see a movie, not sure which one, but we’ll check something out.

Anyway, that’s where we’re staying the night tonight. It’s the blue room, looks ok from the website, but I’ll send up an update later on once we’ve left!

Great Date Idea: The best part about the bed and breakfast is waking up to the BREAKFAST. I once stayed at one in Niagara Falls (It was the Lions Head) and the breakfast was the BEST i’ve ever had. I just wish my girlfriend at the time ate less. I’d go back just for the breakfast.

Today, my bebe and I are going up to St. Clements Ontario (just under 80 minutes drive from downtown Toronto, and about 15 minutes outside of Waterloo) to visit Nauman’s farm. We decided to go because there’s a farm called Nauman’s which has a Corn Maze. If you’re like me and thought: “what the heck is a corn maze and why would I want to do this?!”, my bebe has this to say:

Me: What is a corn maze:
bebe: It’s a big maze made out of corn fields that you can walk in.

Me: Yeah right. This is for kids.
bebe: Could be, but it’s the closest one around and takes about 45 minutes to finish!

Me: 45 minutes? How big is this maze?
bebe: huge.

The picture above shows the best example about what a corn maze looks like from above. The actual Nauman’s farm isn’t that nicely paved though, you’ll be walking on grass instead of on a paved or sandy road.

Great Date Idea: Before you go into the maze, go raspberry picking and fill up at least a carton for you and your date. You’ll have some fruit to eat while you’re trying to get yourself out!

Address: 3250 Hessen Strasse RR#1. St. Clements. ON
Phone: 519.699.5524
Email: hnauman@sgci.com
Website: www.naumanfarm.ca
Parking: free parking on site
What’s nearby: This farm is quite isolated. I suggest thinking about a bed and breakfast nearby if you’d like to stay the night.
Why you should go: great exercise, it’s fun, you can get your partner to try some of the paths as you work together.
